Basil Hayden Malted Rye is a unique rye whiskey crafted with an innovative 100% malted rye mashbill. Unlike traditional rye, this expression delivers a exceptionally smooth and mellow profile with sweet notes of toasted grain and chocolate. A sophisticated, approachable rye. Nose: Inviting aromas of toasted grain, sweet honey, and subtle chocolate, with soft hints of vanilla and baked bread.
Palate: Exceptionally smooth and creamy, with a mellow and sweet character. Flavors of cocoa, butterscotch, and brown sugar dominate, with a light nuttiness and very little of the classic rye spice.
Finish: Clean, long, and exceptionally smooth, with a pleasant lingering sweetness and a touch of toasted oak.
